Turning up the heat in P5!
28th May 2026
Primary 5 were lucky enough to go outside and have a lesson in our beautiful school grounds this afternoon. Our WAU topic is Grow! and we are learning about climates and farming in Northern Ireland and around the world. Today, we learned about Greenhouse Gases and the effect they have on our planet.
We went out to look for materials that we could use to create visual representations of the Earth, its atmosphere and the greenhouse gases that are building up inside it. Each group did a great job of this, and they were able to present and explain the materials they used, and the reasons why, to the rest of the class when we came back inside.
We also had great fun playing a game that allowed us to see how the build-up of greenhouse gases makes it harder for the Earth to stay cool. Well done, Primary 5!
