When Mother Duck’s eggs hatched, one little duckling was wibbly and wobbly…and rather ugly! No matter how hard he tried to fit in, the other animals just laughed at him!
After reading the story of “The Ugly Duckling” together as a class, Primary 1 talked about how they all look different, are good at different things and in Hazelbank Primary School, we often remind the children that they are all “fearfully and wonderfully made.”
The boys and girls have been participating in lots of duck themed activities during play based learning such as creating ducklings from dough, sponge painting ducklings, playing duck dominoes and creating a lovely duck pond scene! 🦆
P1 also talked about what they would like to be when they are older and created a beautiful wall display based on this story too.
