P3 step back in time with the Stone Age

29th Jan 2026

P3 have been travelling back in time as part of their learning about the Stone Age, and it has been an exciting, hands-on experience! The children explored what life was like long ago by creating their own Stonehenges, learning about how and why these impressive structures were built.

They also imagined a day in the life of a Stone Age child, helping them understand daily routines, food, shelter and survival. As part of their history work, P3 researched the Palaeolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic periods, discovering key facts and sharing their learning through colourful and informative posters.

One of the most memorable activities was creating cave art in the dark, using tea lights to experience what it might have felt like for early humans painting on cave walls. This immersive activity really brought history to life and sparked lots of curiosity and discussion. Well done P3, for your fantastic enthusiasm and creativity during our Stone Age learning.
