Dear Parents

This is a summary of the reviewed working arrangements we have in place for school reopening.

We have been advised to continue to put whatever mitigations we can in place to reduce the spread of the virus in school but there is a little more flexibility around operating guidelines and this is reflected in our arrangements

You will appreciate it is not possible to enumerate the procedures for every possible eventuality but please be assured that in everything the safety of our pupils along with their emotional and educational wellbeing will be our central focus

Primary 1 operate a different schedule for weeks commencing 1st / 6th / 13th September

 Arrival arrangements

P1+ 2

Pupils will enter school with 1 adult through pedestrian gate and walk round the school to enter school by the back door where a teacher will be waiting to greet them.

A Primary 1 parent will be allowed into the cloakroom area outside the classroom for the first week only. The adult will be expected to wear a mask. No parents will be permitted to enter the classroom area.

From Monday 13th September no adult will be permitted to enter the school building unless by prior appointment and then must be wearing a mask.

Should a child be too distressed to be left it is currently the recommendation that the parent should take them home.

We appreciate that this is an extremely difficult situation for all concerned and we will make every effort to avoid this but we must follow the guidelines for the safety of all pupils and staff members. We will as ever work in partnership with you to ease these transitions but it is important to note that pupils are legally required to be in school.

P3-7

All pupils should be left at and collected from the front gate. No parent should enter school premises except by prior arrangement and then should be wearing a mask

A member of staff will be on duty at the gate and will be available to answer queries and pass on any messages to other members of staff.

We want to continue try to reduce congestion at the beginning and end of the day and staggered drop off and pick up schedules are given below.

We have divided the family groups by surname to try to facilitate a steady stream of arrivals. We do appreciate that mornings can be hectic times at home and emergencies arise but urge you to try to ensure all preparations are made in good time to allow you to arrive at school within the allocated window. Should the time allocated be completely impracticable for you please contact the school but we respectfully ask you to make every effort to work with us in this matter.
