'Floating into Summer'

14th Jun 2019

A little update from the P7 residential day two. It started with a hearty breakfast and a short journey to the River Bann. We all helped to prepare the canoes and braved(battled) the cool Northern winds to paddle downstream. Along the journey we worked hard in teams and at the end we even got to race along the canal, steering the canoes ourselves!

We headed back for some lunch and then the fun began! We were given wetsuits, hats and cag and boarded the bus to head back to the Bann, where a banana boat greeted us! It didn't take much persuasion to get us into the cool waters, before boarding the banana boat. We had lots of fun. We headed back to the hot showers and then our dinner was ready.

Just before home time we got the opportunity to start a fire, using survival skills and techniques. Mrs Gray even caught us having our second round of toasted marshmallows, but our fires were impressive, so we couldn't resist!
